Dr. Bipin Kumar Jha (b. 05.02.1984), a Teaching Fellow (Nalanda University, Rajgir, Nalanda, Bihar) belongs to a family of Sanskrit scholars(in which three members have been awarded by Honourable President of India for their contribution in the field of Sanskrit.). With basic education in the traditional Sanskrit education system, Dr. Jha is a former student of University of Allahabad, Allahabad, Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi, Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay and Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan, (Under MHRD, India), New Delhi. Dr. Jha has been awarded best abstract award (NIT, Kurukshetra), Merit Awards (ECC, Allahabad), JRF (UGC) and D S Gardi Fellowship (JNU). He has nine years of UG and PG level teaching experience, one year as a member of SFC (in JNU administration), five years as a coordinator in Bharat Sanskrit Parishad, Prayag and nine years as a member of editorial board and reviewer committee of several reputed journals of India and abroad. Dr. Jha has been invited for several lectures/ keynote addresses in international and national Seminars. He has reviewed, edited and authored 6 books and around 45 research papers and articles, published in various journals in India and abroad. He has presented papers and participated in around 35 National/ International seminars/ conferences/ workshops on Sanskrit and Oriental studies. As a Sanskrit Sevaka, Dr. Jha is involved in spreading Sanskrit. He started the first Sanskrit E-Journal (2009), Sanskrit E-resource Portal (2014) and Video Tutorial series for Sanskrit lovers (2017, Available on YouTube). Previously Dr. Jha was associated as an Assistant Professor (Sahitya) in Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan (DU under MHRD, since 2011).

  • Ph. D. in Sanskrit, Thesis titled “An Analysis of Tatsama Words Using the Tool OTASH”, Cell for Indian Sciences and Technology in Sanskrit, H&SS, Indian Institute of Technology, Mumbai, Maharashtra. 2009-17. [He has developed a computational tool named Online Tatsama Analyzing system for Hindi.]
  • M.Phil in Sanskrit Shaiva Philosophy with a dissertation titled “Kāśmīraśaivadarśana Meṃ Pramātā”, Special Centre for Sanskrit Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, 2009.

    Research interests

    His research mainly employs an inter-disciplinary approach and lies on the interface of Indian Philosophy, Sanskrit Language & Literary theories and Computational Sanskrit.

    1. Worked as an Assistant Professor on a contract basis to teach UG and PG students for 8 years.
    2.
