Dr. SarojKantaKar, currently Assistant Professor in Philosophy, at School of Buddhist Studies, Philosophy and Comparative Religions, Nalanda University, worked in various major capacities in different institutions. He has been Programme Officer in Indian Council of Philosophical Research (ICPR) (2011-2018), and before that has worked as Teaching Faulty in M.S. University of Baroda for a short period. He has been a Research Associate in GITAM University (2010-2011), and for long has been involved in Research and Teaching at Centre of Advanced Studies in Philosophy, Utkal University (2007-2010). Prior to that he has teaching assignments in an undergraduate college for a short period.

His post-doctoral research is on consciousness in Buddhism and Vedānta. His doctoral research was based on Nagarjuna’s philosophy. He has specialized in Buddhism and Vedanta. He has studied and taught Indian Philosophy, Western Philosophy. Philosophy of Religion, Moral Philosophy, and Logic. Critical, Creative and Applied Research in philosophy and allied areas of study always occupy priorities in his academic engagements. He also takes up challenges in meeting new frontiers in academics and research.

His publications include two booksand some research papers, viz., ‘On Theoretic to Applied Ethics’, ‘Revisiting ‘Dharma’ in Mahabharat : Resolving Moral Dilemmas’, ‘Jaina Approach to (A)himsa’, ‘(A)Himsa in Buddhism’ and ‘(A)Himsa: Classical Indian Perspective’, ‘On Theoretic to Applied Ethics’, ‘Buddhist Message Towards Attitudinal Crisis in Ecology’, ‘Towards Future Philosophy’ and ‘On the So-called Conflict between Applied and Pure Logic’.
