Programmes in School of Historical Studies

The School of Historical Studies is comprised of faculty with expertise in archaeology, art history, economic history, global history, and histories of inter-Asian interactions as well as cultural-political histories, intellectual histories, oral and visual histories, art histories, and religious histories.

During the course of their studies and research, students are encouraged to consult all faculty members within the School and across the university. Through this interaction, students are provided an opportunity to develop critical scholarship that engages with ideas across disciplines. As a result, students in the School of Historical Studies are provided with a thorough grounding in methodological and theoretical directions critical to the multidisciplinary study of history.

The School of Historical Studies seeks to equip students with the required skill and capability to carry out original and innovative research based on archaeological findings, archival sources in classical and modern languages, and field research.
