Dr. Garima Khansili is a post-doctoral Fellow at the Nalanda University (Rajgir, Bihar). She has a diverse academic background in History, Archaeology and Heritage Management. Dr. Khansili completed her PhD at Deccan College PGRI, Pune, where her doctoral research focused on lithic technology at the archaeological site of Mehtakheri. She has been a part of various national and international excavations in Gujarat, Kazakhstan, Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra, among others.

In past, Dr. Khansili has served as a Guest Lecturer at the department of History and Archaeology in North-eastern Hill University (NEHU) in Meghalaya (2022-2023). Dr. Khansili has been instrumental in conceptualising gallery designs for various museums, notably the Shri Pratap Singh Museum, Srinagar, Kashmir while working as a researcher at Matrika Design Collaborative, Mumbai. She has also been an instrumental person for Mahira Foundation, coordinating projects related to collection management at Rajkot Rajya Foundation, Gujarat and Bhadrajun Fort, Rajasthan.

Her research has been supported by prestigious fellowships and grants, including the Junior Research Fellowship and Senior Research Fellowship by University Grant Commission (UGC- JRF and SRF), IKS-Research Grant funded by the Centre for Policy Research and Governance (CPRG) and the INFOSYS Research Grant disseminated by Bhandarkar Oriental Research Institute (BORI) in Pune, which have enabled me to conduct significant research on various archaeological aspects.

Dr. Khansili’s career highlights include serving as Associate Editor for The Journal of Lithic Studies at The University of Edinburgh. She has been invited to deliver talks at prestigious institutions such as the Max Planck Research Institute in Germany and Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyay Institute of Archaeology in India. Notably, Dr. Khansili has received international grants to present her research at significant conferences like the XXI INQUA Congress in Rome and the Indo-Pacific Prehistory Association (IPPA) Congress in Thailand. She has recently returned from a training in use-wear analysis at the TraceoLab, University of Liège, Belgium.
