Prof Umesh Chandra Chattopadhyaya

Prof Umesh Chandra Chattopadhyaya former Professor and Head of the Department of Ancient History, Culture and Archaeology, University of Allahabad. He is trained in Archaeology from the University of Cambridge, and specializes in Prehistory. He is also interested in Buddhism and Southeast Asia, Historical Theory and Indo-Greek philosophy. Prof Chattopadhyaya has widely published in his areas of Research. He been associated with reputed national and international bodies like the Central Advisory Board of Archaeology, Royal Asiatic Society of Great Britain, Allahabad Museum Society, International Council of Archaeozoology, Cambridge Philosophical Society, Indian Archaeological Society, Rock Art Society of India, among others
