Painting Competition: “Viksit Bharat ke Rang, Kala ke Sang”
01 October 2025, Multipurpose Hall, Nalanda University | Nalanda University hosted a creative painting competition themed “Vishwaguru – India as a Global Knowledge Leader.” Initiated jointly by NDMC and AIU, the event brought together students from multiple nationalities. Participants expressed their vision of Viksit Bharat @2047 through art and imagination. The competition strengthened cultural learning among youth and showcased Nalanda’s inclusive educational environment. The event also reinforced the University’s commitment to fostering creativity and nation-building discourse.
Launch of Battery-Operated Vehicles: Advancing Net Zero Goals
03 October 2025 | Nalanda University introduced a new fleet of battery-operated vehicles as part of its Net Zero mobility strategy. The initiative marks a major transition toward a fossil fuel–free campus. The VC highlighted Nalanda’s commitment to pioneering Net Zero practices, aligning sustainability with daily campus operations. This step strengthens NU’s position as a living laboratory for climate-responsible innovation. It also enhances green mobility for students, faculty and staff.
Inauguration of Training & Placement Cell
26 October 2025 | Vice Chancellor Professor Sachin Chaturvedi inaugurated the Training and Placement Cell at School of Management Studies, marking a key step toward structured career support for students. The new cell enhances industry linkages and opportunities for the School of Management Studies. It aligns with Bihar’s development goals through localised industry engagement. The initiative enhances student preparedness for the job market. It reinforces NU’s commitment to fostering socio-economic growth.
Cambodia’s 72nd Independence Day Celebration at Nalanda University
09 November 2025 | Cambodian students, with the support of the University, celebrated their 72nd Independence Day at the Nalanda University campus. The programme featured vibrant cultural performances, film screenings, and a special address by the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, offering insights into Cambodia’s history and contemporary journey. Students, faculty, and visitors experienced Cambodian cuisine and heritage displays, making the celebration a meaningful expression of Nalanda University’s commitment to intercultural harmony and global cultural exchange.
Commemoration of 150 Years of “Vande Mataram”
09 November 2025 | NU marked the 150th anniversary of Vande Mataram with reflections on its historical importance. Faculty and students discussed the song’s role in India’s national awakening. The Vice Chancellor emphasized cultural unity and India’s civilizational continuity. The programme strengthened patriotic sentiment among the academic community. It reinforced NU’s commitment to cultural literacy.
Inauguration of ICICI and SBI Bank Branches at Nalanda University
9 December & 21 December, 2025 | Vice Chancellor Prof. Sachin Chaturvedi inaugurated the ICICI Bank branch on December 9, and SBI Bank Branch on December 21, on campus in Rajgir, in the presence of University officials and respective senior bank representatives. Emphasizing financial inclusion, he encouraged extending banking services to the five neighbouring villages under the Sahbhāgitā initiative. Both of these bank branches will support the University community and local outreach programs.
Club Activities
Heritage Club
November 22-27 | During November 2025, Nalanda University’s Heritage Club hosted vibrant cultural initiatives celebrating India’s rich civilizational diversity. Prasang 2025 inaugurated World Heritage Week with an exhibition showcasing art, literature, and heritage narratives, engaging students across disciplines. As part of Virasat 2025, a mesmerizing Purulia Chhau performance enthralled audiences from over 20 countries, fostering intercultural exchange and setting the stage for a series of classical performances on campus.
Chanting Club Activities – Gītā Celebration
The Nalanda University Chanting Club organized a serene Gītā Celebration, combining devotion, scholarship, and cultural engagement. The event featured collective chanting of the 15th Chapter of the Bhagavad Gītā and concluded with a spirited student-led kīrtan, fostering a spiritually enriching and harmonious atmosphere on campus.
Sports Club – Indoor Sports Fest
10–11 October 2025 | Nalanda University witnessed vibrant campus energy as the Sports Club successfully organised a two-day Indoor Sports Fest with enthusiastic participation from students across Schools. The event fostered a spirit of fitness, teamwork, focus, and healthy competition, offering students a constructive platform for stress relief and recreation. Marked by high energy and sportsmanship, the fest strengthened campus camaraderie and reflected Nalanda University’s commitment to holistic student well-being and an active campus culture.
