- Archaeology of Magadh first capital city Rajgir and surrounding
- Early explorations and rediscovery, Overview of major excavations, Stratigraphy, and periodization
- UNESCO World Heritage Site tag to Nalanda
- 2. Monastic Structure/Stupa Architecture
- Site Planning Layout of the monastic complex, entrances, main temples and votive shrines/stupas,evolution and multi-phase constructions, cells, verandahs, kitchens, storage, teaching platforms/podium and auditorium
- 3. Building materials and Techniques
- Use of Bricks, lime mortar, stone, dimensions of buildings
- Sculpture and Iconography –Stone, Stucco, and Metal
- Major Iconography style: Buddhist, Brahmanical, and Jaina images
- 4. Ancient Water Management Systems
- Wells, drainage, tanks, ponds, and water channels, ancient hydrological system
- 5. Inscriptions, Coins, and Seals and Metallurgical evidence

- Language, paleography, and significance
