Course Introduction:

At Nalanda University, we focus on equipping students with the fundamentals of Tibetan language to help them with good Listening, Speaking and Reading and Writing skills. The syllabus is designed to orient the students to conversational Tibetan language at advance level.

Course Objectives:

The chief objective of this course is to teach reading different Tibetan scripts of the classical Tibetan texts, differences in Wylie transliteration, enhance reading and writing skills, advance level of sentence formation, transformation of sentence, and translation methodologies. The course will delve into the history of the Tibetan script and the contributions of great translators in developing Tibetan literature, including the significance of learning Tibetan for research into Ancient Nalanda Tradition and Text. Explaining the historical trajectory of Tibetan language as a system of connecting bridge between Buddhism in Tibet and Ancient Nalanda Tradition. The major emphasis would be on providing a comprehensive understanding of the advance level of Tibetan grammar, translation and communication.
