Sustainability Initiatives
Nālandā University continues to lead by example in environmental stewardship, aligning with global sustainability goals:
- 5 June 2025: World Environment Day was celebrated with a tree plantation drive and an awareness campaign on waste management, reinforcing our commitment to a Net-Zero, Green, and Sustainable Campus. Faculty, students, and staff came together to plant trees and promote eco-conscious practices.
- 21 June 2025: International Yoga Day was marked with uplifting yoga sessions and a green pledge through additional tree planting. Students from India and abroad participated, embodying the spirit of One Earth, One Health and promoting harmony with nature.
- 27 June 2025: The 6th Net-Zero Campus Steering Committee Meeting, chaired by Professor Chaturvedi at RIS, New Delhi, brought together key stakeholders, including MNRE, CERC, NISE, BEE, BREDA, and SBPDCL. Discussions focused on addressing climate challenges, reducing carbon emissions, optimizing energy use, and implementing sustainable campus practices.
