The Centre for Bay of Bengal Studies, Nalanda University, is pleased to announce the next issue of the bi-monthly newsletter, Tāriṇī: Sailing Across the Bay of Bengal. The newsletter aims to provide a platform for students, scholars and practitioners to engage with issues related to the Bay of Bengal through themes of economy, environment, people, politics, and security.

This edition – Arthasetu: Pathways to Prosperity, will delve into the Bay of Bengal as a pivotal arena for sectoral and shared economic growth. Articles will examine how economic cooperation strengthens coastal communities, local governance, healthcare, industries, and entrepreneurship across littoral states. We invite Articles and book reviews relevant to the theme, with a word limit of 600-700 words.

Nalanda University’s Centre for Bay of Bengal Studies has launched the inaugural issue of its newsletter, Tāriṇī: Sailing Across the Bay of Bengal, on the occasion of the 9th anniversary of the commissioning of INSV Tarini. The newsletter was formally inaugurated by the Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor of Nalanda University, Prof. Sachin Chaturvedi.
Tāriṇī is a student-led initiative that aims to provide a platform for informed discussion and engagement on the Bay of Bengal and its growing significance. The first issue focuses on the theme Sahabhagita in Shared Waters, highlighting cooperation, participation, and shared responsibility across the region.
The newsletter seeks to bring together diverse perspectives on the economic, environmental, social, political, and security dimensions of the Bay of Bengal.
