Brief Biography

Professor Deepak Kumar is a leading researcher in Remote Sensing and GeoAI. He has been recognized among the World's Top 2% Scientists in the 2025 Stanford University–Elsevier ranking for his significant contributions to Artificial Intelligence, Image Processing, Geomatics, and Engineering Sciences. His research integrates Earth Observation, Geospatial Artificial Intelligence (GeoAI), Climate Informatics, Deep Learning, and High-Performance Cluster Computing (HPCC) to advance Environmental Monitoring, Climate Risk Assessment, Computational Urban Science, and Sustainable Development. His expertise spans Extreme Weather Events/ Climate Hazard Forecasting, Numerical Weather Prediction, Smart Cities, and Geospatial Decision-Support Systems. His research aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs 7, 11, and 13), with a particular emphasis on AI for social good, responsible AI, and the ethical, governance, and policy dimensions of artificial intelligence. Previously, he served at Texas Tech University, the State University of New York at Albany, and Amity University. He has published over 100 peer-reviewed papers, authored or edited 9 books, and holds 8 patents and 1 registered copyright.
