Brief Biography
Dr. Kundu completed his Ph.D. in Mathematics in the field of optimization under uncertainty from the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Durgapur, followed by a Post-Doctoral Fellowship in Reliability Theory at the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Kolkata. He subsequently served as faculty at NIT Raipur, Birla Institute of Technology (BIT) Mesra, Birla Global University (formerly BIMTECH) Bhubaneswar, and XIM University (Xavier University) Bhubaneswar. Currently he is an Associate Professor of Mathematics at Nalanda University. His broad research interests are in optimization and decision-making under uncertainty, Reliability Theory, and Data Analytics. He has contributed to both theoretical and methodological developments in these fields of research. He has published more than 45 research papers in reputed international journals (SCI), including in Annals of Operations Research (3 papers), Journal of the Operational Research Society, Operations Research Letters, Applied Mathematical Modelling, Statistica Neerlandica, Statistics, Applied Stochastic Models in Business and Industry, Stochastic Models, Probability in the Engineering and Informational Sciences, Computers & Industrial Engineering, Expert Systems with Applications, and Information Sciences. Also, his Ph.D. thesis was published by Springer. He has extensive experience in teaching both undergraduate and postgraduate levels and received consistently positive student feedback across the disciplines(~ 4.7/5). Beyond teaching responsibilities, he served as Programming Coordinator, Coordinator of Certificate Course in Applied Data Analytics, and Advisor to training and placement cells.
