Admission Policy

Eligibility Criteria for Masters’ Level Admissions at Nalanda University for Indian and International Students

1. Indian Students

A minimum of three years Bachelor’s degree (10+2+3) with at least 60% marks or equivalent Grade Point Average (GPA).

2. International Students

A Bachelor’s Degree with minimum 15 years of prior studies with a grade point average (GPA) of at least 2.2 or above on a 4 point scale or equivalent grade if other grade point scale is used.

The international applicants shall present the score of any one of the following English Language Tests/ or proof of knowledge of English:

For full time students it’s a fully residential program, with a stipend of 35000 INR per month

Essential Eligibility Criteria:

  1. Applicant should have a Master’s degree with at least 65% marks or equivalent Grade Point Average (GPA), preferably with dissertation at Masters’ level or M.Phil. Degree with 65% marks or equivalent Grade Point Average (GPA).
  2. Applicant to submit a Letter of Self Introduction, and 2 Letters of Recommendation/ References.
  3. Applicant to submit a Statement of Purpose (SoP) (The SoP should clearly state the reason for opting the course/program and choosing Nalanda University)
  4. Applicant to submit a detailed Research Proposal (which will be put through plagiarism check)
  5. Applicant to submit evidence of any research such as writing samples or published papers (at least 2 to 3).
  6. International applicants have to submit a language proficiency proof such as:

Eligibility Criteria for Employed Applicants (Part-time):

  1. Applicant should have a Master’s degree with at least 65% marks or equivalent Grade Point Average (GPA), preferably with dissertation at Masters’ level or M.Phil. Degree with 60% marks or equivalent Grade Point Average (GPA).
  2. Applicant must have a minimum of 8-10 years of work experience.
  3. Applicant to submit a Letter of Self Introduction, and 2 Letters of Recommendation/ References
  4. Applicant to submit a Statement of Purpose (SoP) (The SoP should clearly state the reason for opting the course/program and choosing Nalanda University)
  5. Applicant to submit a detailed Research Proposal (which will be put through plagiarism check)
  6. Applicant to submit evidence of any research such as writing samples or published papers (at least 2 to 3).
  7. Application should be forwarded through proper channel along with a NOC from the present employer
  8. International applicants have to submit language proficiency proof such as:

Selection:

The candidate has to visit the University website for filling the online Application Form. The candidate has to submit a duly filled Application Form and a Statement of Purpose (SOP) and pay an Application Fee of USD 08 (Eight US Dollars only or equivalent in Indian currency) towards the processing of the Application

Shortlisted applicants will be called for an interview through video conferencing using Skype/ WhatsApp as per the scheduled time as intimated to the candidate. Selection will be purely on merit. Selected candidates will be recommended for the provisional admission for the academic year 2019-20.

It is not guaranteed that all the applicants who have filled the Application Form and appeared in the interview would be selected for admission.

Eligibility Criteria for Post Graduate Diploma Programmes

A minimum of three years Bachelor’s degree (10+2+3) in the relevant language or degree in any subject with demonstrated evidence of linguistic proficiency equivalent to the Bachelor’s degree

The University requires all applicants to demonstrate competence in the English language.
