Dr. Kumuda Prasad Acharya is an Assistant Professor in the School of Languages and Literature/Humanities and the School of Buddhist Studies, Philosophy & Comparative Religions, at Nalanda University since July 2021. He obtained Master’s degree in Sanskrit from Utkal University, Bhubaneswar. and M.Phil. & Ph.D. in Sanskrit from University of Madras (India). His research interests include Sanskrit Literature, Poetics, Prosody, Puranic Studies, Ethics, and Manuscriptology.
Prior to joining the Nalanda University, Dr. Acharya worked as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Sanskrit, Central University of Haryana from August 2019 to July 2021, and at Depaitment of Sanskrit, Central University of Odisha from July 2015 to June 2019. He has also worked as an Editorial Assistant in the New Catalogus Catalogorum Project at the Department of Sanskrit. University of Madras (India).
As an ardent scholar of Oriental Studies Dr. Acharya has 2 books, 2 edited books and 22 research papers in peer reviewed journals and books to his credit on different aspects of Sanskrit studies. He delivered lectures and invited talks in different National and International Seminars, Conferences, Symposiums, Workshops as participant and resource person. Dr. Acharya is also contributing to different academic and accredited bodies as a member and coordinator from time to time. At Nalanda he offers courses in the programs of M.A. in Hindu Studies. M.A. in Buddhist Studies, Philosophy & Comparative Religions, M.A. in World Literature and Certificate and Diploma courses in Sanskrit as part of Short Term programs.
