Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Prof. Sunaina Singh attended the Third Edition of the Indian Ocean Conference in Hanoi, Vietnam

The Hon’ble Vice Chancellor of Nalanda University, Prof. Sunaina Singh attended the Third Edition of the Indian Ocean Conference that was held in Hanoi, Vietnam on 27-28 August 2018. Prof. Singh was attending the Conference in her capacity as the Director of India Foundation that hosts the conference annually with its partners. The third edition of the conference was inaugurated by Hon’ble Minister of External Affairs, Smt. Sushma Swaraj and her Vietnamese counterpart Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr.Pham Bhin Min.

The Conference was organized by India Foundation in association with Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam,S.Rajarathnam School of International Studies (RSIS), Sri Lanka and Bangladesh Institute of International and Strategic Studies. Its theme was “Building Regional Architectures”. Delegates from 35 countries and speakers from 25 countries participated in the Conference. The Indian Ocean Conference has been initiated by the India Foundation along with its partners in Singapore, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. It is an Annual Conference aimed at bringing together heads of States/ Governments, ministers, thought leaders, scholars, Diplomats, bureaucrats and practitioners from across the region on a single platform. So far two successful editions of the Conference have been successfully conducted in 2016 and 2017 at Singapore and Sri Lanka respectively. Both Conferences were supported by the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India.
