Nalanda University signs MoU with CSIR-NEERI for Academic and Research Collaboration

A Memorandum of Understanding for Academic and Research Collaboration between Nalanda University and CSIR-National Environmental Engineering Research Institute (CSIR-NEERI), Nagpur, India was signed by Prof. Sunaina Singh, Vice-Chancellor, Nalanda University and Dr. Rakesh Kumar, Director, CSIR-NEERI on 30th November 2017. The MoU is aimed at fostering cooperation and knowledge dissemination between the two well recognised organizations in areas of river erosion, sedimentation, ecology and biodiversity, strategic urban environment management, water purification technology and its implementation in villages.
It will also work on large-scale implementation of arsenic and fluoride removal from water supplies, waste management, bio-gas system installation in rural areas and so on. The MoU shall facilitate students from NU as interns and training at NEERI, joint supervision of students’ dissertations and in short term exchange visits of faculty and scientists. The Officiating Registrar, Prof. Pankaj Mohan and Finance Officer In-Charge and Dean School of Ecology and Environmental Studies, Prof. Govind Chakrapani were also present amongst others at the event.
