Eligibility

Eligibility Criteria for Masters' programme for Indian and International Students.

A minimum of three years Bachelor’s degree (10+2+3) is required from any recognised University.

Minimum criteria is 55% or 2.2/4.0 GPA or equivalent Grade Point Average (GPA) in Under Graduate Degree.

Students from any stream i.e Humanities/Sciences/Engineering/Management/Law etc. can apply for any programme, however students may not apply for more than two programmes.
How to Apply: On the Portal, please submit.
(i) Self-Introduction/Bio-Note Statement (Not more than 250 words)
(ii) Statement of Purpose (SoP)

  • Why do you want to study at Nalanda University (100 words)
  • The reasons for choosing the programme (300 – 500 words)

(iii) Proof of English proficiency is required for students coming from non English speaking countries/medium: (Please attach)

  • TOEFL/IELTS or any other standard certification in English

*The candidate having full-time degree-level course, entirely taught and assessed in English need not submit any certificate

For MBA in Sustainable Development and Management (in addition to the above criteria)

  • For Indian students, a minimum score of 70 percentile in CAT or XAT or MAT is required.
  • For international students, a minimum credit score/GPA at Undergraduate level to be 2.8/4.0 GPA or equivalent GPA or relevant GMAT score.

  • For Working Executives
  • Minimum 5 years of working experience
  • No Objection Certificate is required from employer for working executives/sponsored candidates/ candidates on sabbatical/candidates recommended by PSUs/GOI Departments.
  • CAT/XAT/MAT score will not be applicable.

Eligibility and Selection Criteria for PhD Level Admission at Nalanda University for Indian and International Students

Essential Eligibility Criteria:

  1. Applicant should have a Master’s degree with at least 65% marks or equivalent Grade Point Average (GPA), preferably with dissertation at Masters’ level or M.Phil. Degree with 65% marks or equivalent Grade Point Average (GPA).
  2. Applicant to submit a Letter of Self Introduction, and 2 Letters of Recommendation/ References.
  3. Applicant to submit a Statement of Purpose (SoP). The SoP should clearly state:
    • The reason for opting the course/programme
    • The reason for choosing Nalanda University
  4. Applicant to submit a detailed Research Proposal (A Plagiarism check report with similarity of 10% or less from Turnitin must be attached to the proposal).
  5. Applicant to submit evidence of any research such as writing samples or published papers (at least 2 to 3).
  6. International applicants have to submit a language proficiency proof such as:
  7. Assessment will be done on the basis of online interaction, document verification and Interview before final shortlisting for admission.

Eligibility Criteria for Employed Applicants (Part-time):

  1. Applicant should have a Master’s degree with at least 65% marks or equivalent Grade Point Average (GPA), preferably with dissertation at Masters’ level or M.Phil. Degree with 60% marks or equivalent Grade Point Average (GPA).
  2. Applicant must have a minimum of 8-10 years of work experience.
  3. Applicant to submit a Letter of Self Introduction, and 2 Letters of Recommendation/ References
  4. Applicant to submit a Statement of Purpose (SoP) (The SoP should clearly state the reason for opting the course/programme and choosing Nalanda University)
  5. Applicant to submit a detailed Research Proposal (A Plagiarism check report with similarity of 10% or less from turnitin must be attached to the proposal).
  6. Applicant to submit evidence of any research such as writing samples or published papers (at least 2 to 3).
  7. Application should be forwarded through proper channel along with a NOC from the present employer
  8. International applicants have to submit language proficiency proof such as:
